But the scheme “Rajiv Gandhi Digital Laptop Yojana 2020” is still continued by the newly elected CM Jai Ram Thakur.

The purpose of the Himachal Pradesh Free Laptop Scheme is to raise the standard of education in the state by motivating students through such schemes.

In this scheme Government of Himachal Pradesh distributes the free laptops to brilliant students who performed excellently in the 10th & 12th Board exams.

हिमाचल प्रदेश सरकार जल्दी ही हिमाचल प्रदेश स्कूल बोर्ड की शिक्षा मे अव्वल रहने वाले छात्र को दस हजार लैपटॉप प्रदान करेगा 5 हज़ार लैपटॉप 10 कक्षा मे अव्वल रहने वाले छात्रो को और 5 हज़ार लैपटॉप 12 कक्षा मे अव्वल रहने वाले छात्रो को दिए जाएँगे

Himachal Pradesh Government provides Free Laptops under the Rajiv Gandhi Digital Laptop Yojana 2020. About 10000 laptops will be distributed to the meritorious students of Himachal Pradesh.

The First 5000 laptops are given to the 10th students and the remaining 5000 digital laptops are for 12th class students. Only the brilliant students of the 10th & 12th board exam are eligible for the Himachal Pradesh Free Laptop Scheme.

हिमाचल प्रदेश के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री वीर भद्र सिंह द्वारा मेधावी छात्रों को “राजीव गाँधी फ्री लैपटॉप वितरण योजना के अंतर्गत लैपटॉप वितरण का कार्यक्रम शुरू किया गया। परन्तु चुनावी हार होने के बाद वीर भद्र सिंह मुख्यमंत्री नहीं रहे एवं अब हिमचाल प्रदेश के वर्तमान मुख्यमंत्री  

इसे मुख्यमंत्री जयराम ठाकुर द्वारा इस योजना को विद्यार्थियों तक पहुंचाया जा रहा है। हिमाचल प्रदेश 10 एवं 12वी बोर्ड परीक्षाओ में अच्छे अंक प्राप्त करने वाले सभी छात्र एवं छात्राओं को सरकार मुफ्त राजीव गाँधी लैपटॉप योजना के अंतर्गत लैपटॉप वितरित करती है जिससे की वे आगे की पढाई को बेहतर दिशा दे सके। परन्तु उसके लिए सरकार द्वारा निर्धारित योग्यता होना अनिवार्य है।
